The women in your life, friends and family alike, are unable to resist buying all the cute outfits for babies and giving them to you. Memories are a good thing, gifts are a good thing, 25 identical, new born sleepers, not such a good thing.
After your baby is about 3-6 months old, they have outgrown a tremendous amount of clothing. Some items only worn a couple of times, some have never even been worn, but the tags are gone and the item can not be returned.
What do you do with them? You can save all of them for the next baby, if you have storage space, or you can sell some or all of them on eBay.
I have been a successful seller on eBay for the past few years and recently sold a lot of my grandson's outgrown baby clothes. Here are a few tips for having successful auctions-
Make sure all items are clean and odor free. Group like items together and sell in a 'lot'-say you have 30 white baby T shirts, all the same size, they will sell faster and receive higher bids if you break them into 3 lots of 10 and list them in 3 separate auctions. It's just using common sense, you did not need 30 white, same sized T shirts, chances are that your auction bidders will not need 30 either. If they do, they can bid on all 3 of your auctions and drive the prices up.
Take good pictures of your items. Full view pictures and close-ups of front, back and any details on the clothing. If the item still has a sales tag on it, take a close up picture of the tag. If there are any stains or spots on the item, take a close up picture of it also. Accurately describe each item and give details. Tell the size, the manufacturer, washing instructions, fabric type, how much it cost new, how many times it was worn, etc Give your item an accurate title, using as many key words as possible. Key words are what brings your auction up for view to potential bidder. Your item title should not be-baby boy sleeper. You item title should be-Carter's baby boy sz 3 month cotton sleeper. That title gives you 6 key words potential bidders might use when they are searching for an item on eBay. Using some abbreviations for non-key words in the title is fine. Be sure and check out similar items that are up for auction on eBay. Look at the price range and price your item accordingly. Determine your postage price, you will need a price that is fair to both you and your customers. Ebay has an answer center forum that you can find answers in for your specific questions.
Make some money and free up some space by selling those no longer needed baby items on ebay.
